Is this the end of Apple’s dominance within the smartphone market? Thanks Rich for putting me on to this.

We’re both happy and sad today. This looks like it could really rival Apple’s product design and interface. Apparently HTC has put their own interface on top of Google’s ugly one. Nice work. When is it available here in the UK? Now. Orange have it. And apparently T-Mobile.

Previously, the main problem with the G1 was that although obviously Google have the OS/Cloud experience in delivering applications and uptime, their interface and the phones are butt ugly. Bring on the HTC and let battle commence. Now just waiting till we actually see these things in people’s hands out and about, over and above the now ubiquitous iPhone. Still love mine.
