Deleting/managing photos on an iPhone
I’ve been looking for a way to delete photos off my iPhone and haven’t found a way until now. Why don’t you select “Delete originals” on import into iPhoto I hear you ask? When importing in iPhoto, I prefer check that all the photos have arrived safely before deleting images, so I never select “Delete originals”. This leaves no simple way to remove the photos later. Seems to me it’s yet another problem with iPhoto.
I’ve been wanting to know how to do this for a while but haven’t looked it up. Wrongly, I assumed that iPhoto and/or iTunes would hold the answer. Apparently not. Hunting around online I’ve come across the simpletest solution. This is pretty easy.
Image Capture

Image Capture is the nondescript little app, sitting in your Applications folder on a Mac that does it.
Open the application Image Capture > Click the button Download some
Then select what you want to delete and go to Edit > Delete on the menu. You might have to quit iPhoto if you have it open. It didn’t register that I had removed all the images off the phone, (even though I unplugged it and plugged it back in) whereas the iPhone did. Not most elegent solution, Apple!
